My convict laid eggs today kind of hard to see them under the driftwood. This is my first time breeding very exciting.

Congrats....Evertime I breed convict cichlids, or something prolific for feeder qaulity, I always make sure there is a seperate tank for growing out the fry..........Plus, taking the fry out right when they hatch allows the parents to read just themselves and they lay right away.............
That could also cause the parents to fight if their bond isn't strong.

The female is guarding the eggs she won't let the male close to them. Looks like she beat him up today he seems to be hiding from her. How long until I will see wiggliers?
It sounds like their bond isn't strong and he's just her sperm donor. I would remove the male or divide em. A true pair should be working together. It will be 3-4 days till wigglers and 7-9 till they are free swimming.

Its been a week and no sign of fry I think there gone. I put a pot in the tank hopefully she uses it so I can see the eggs next time
they aren't gone.the tank setup u have there is great and very much liked by convicts.they have the habit of moving the wrigglers from one place to another and u have many great hiding places in your tank and u used a simple logic which might help u to see the wrigglers of this batch only i.e. u don't have to wait for next batch as they might choose that pot as a hiding place itself and move the wrigglers in that.
