*We have eggs*

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
We breed convicts for feeding our more expensive fish and they make for a good chase for the other fry. We use cichlid caves from Dr. Foster and Smith. The opening is smaller and easier for the female to guard her eggs.

My convict laid eggs today kind of hard to see them under the driftwood. This is my first time breeding very exciting. :D

The first thing I would do is head to petsmart or a local pet store and buy a media bag and place it over the intake suction hose of your aquariums filter(s).

My Convicta also had babys. LOL the other day I was cleaning my 2 canister filters. And found 8 convict fry still alive, but half as small as his family fry still in the tank. I think my convicts lost ovre half there litter to the filter monster. And maybe some tank mates.

The media bags work great and there is verry little stress put on your filters motor. And they can be washed and reused. $1 per bag at petsmart or any local pet store.

Congratulations!!!

Just wanted to toss in my 2 cents.

Have fun watching them grow.

My fuys had there first litter at only 5 months of age. LOL they are in a 125g tank. And mom and dad chase the other fish all over that entire tank. Its crazy seeing how protective they are in a 72" long tank. LOL they are good parenting fish.
