It's a 300 8x2x2.5 and I don't know what kind of pikes I want. Right now all I've got is a little belly crawler... I want something w/ nice color though. My g/f won't let me get any ugly fish, lol.

so much potential with 300 gallons. the xingu 1's have pretty nice colors... a nice orange when there young and a nice red when there older. another option might be some lenticulatas. not the same colors but very cool patterns. might wanna try mixing with some other sa/ca cichlids as well. im jealous i want a 300g

Alright, thanks man. My lfs can usually get some oranges in if I ask them too so i was thinking about getting a few to try and get a pair...

possibly. who opens up mfk and goes straight to the crenicichla part. then reads the other section after all new threads are read?

I just picked up a 210 last weekend to be the final home for my Johannas. They've finally grown up enough that I can sex them now...both females, unfortunately.

I really, really want some Lents, too.

I tell everyone I can about pikes and how cool they are. Nobody believes me. Everyone has only heard about how horribly nasty they are. Honestly, my 65 gal, with 2 adult female belly crawlers, one teenage male BC and 4 salvinis is the most peaceful cichlid tank I've got. Everyone seems to know their place. Aggresssion is limited to bluffing.

crenicichla section first then polypterus then maybe something else, maybe done :)

I've got five different species of crenicichla right now, and I love them all. Crennies are very cool fish if you give them a chance.
