i'd have to agree with busta on this one. plus, their "teeth are more in the back part ofthe throat, whilst the fh's, rt's, etc. have teeth at the front, thus giving them more of an advantage bite-wise.
i had an albino Oscar that i put in the tank last and he took over, he beat my jack (same size) and my manag didnt have the ballz to stand up to it. i also had a butti, dovii, flowerhorn, and a pike. all of which where submissive to the big O. .... i miss him he was the only oscar i had that ever dominated the tank 125 gal
I've had some oscars that were aggressive and some that are soft as tissue but an oscar can't mess with an red devil half its size devil are to agressive.
Many moons ago I had an Oscar and a Red Tail Shark together. The Oscar could have easily eaten the Red Tail. That Red Tail OWNED the tank. So much so that the Oscar would not even go near the Red Tail, he was scared to death of him.
They lived together for about 7 years until one day the Red Tail wedged himself in between the heater and the glass overnight and cooked himself.
I think the Oscar had something to do with it. lol
Oscars are just passive, they have a different agenda. They'd prefer to just eat. There is some Oscars that can kick *** though. Depends on the individual. But for the most part they dont try to scrap with other cichlids if they dont need to.
i have had some diff experinces my oscar lived in a 75 with 3 breeding pairs of cons and a pleco...... he finaly got tired of geting beat up that he snaped and i woke up and all the cons where dead with huge bite marks on them......
