now you can try pellets. Ive found a mix of pellets and frozen foods will thicken a hungry fish up nicely and keep the temp in the 80's so the frozen breaks up easier and the fish metabolism is better.

I thaw my foods first before i put them in the tanks, but its not nesseccary. Just easier for all the fish to get some food instead of one fish eatin the whole thing...haha.

All my tanks are always at 82 degrees or warmer. Right now they are at 84. Fish are very active and their disease resistance has skyrocketed!!

Peanut,im the Thread creator of "Getting Sveni off Bloodworms" and dude,i have done ALL you have said, from the Mysis/Bloodworm/Pellet,to drop feeding( which i guess is tricking preadators to snatch it cause it plunks in like when you drop in feeders) and you also said you've never known a Pike to starve itself, well guess what, meet mine.I've tried all of the pelletsyou recomended,ALL of 'em.He does hit them, but he spits EVERY little peice out.So during day 5 of my last fasting of him/her he was sitting on the bottom for quite a bit and he usually is a typical Saxatillis when he sees me,so this made me give in for i felt it was getting to weak,as it is only 5 1/2 " and probably can't go a week without food and do to well.My Question is,the blood worms i give him are the Hikari Freeze Dried with Vitamins E,C,B1,B2,B6,and B12.Will this Vitamin Spectrum Keep HITH/HLLE at bay or is this georugeous fish gonna HAVE to eat prepared food?
I have NO problem feeding him these Bloodworms for life for the reason that he gets full bellies off them and is it's most favorite food in the world. But a 11 inch Sax trying to get full-bellied on those thin things is not logical, possible through frozen cubes, but not logical. I apologise to the the Thread creator for going sorta off-topic but i need some help with this. Thanks[FONT]

OK..............Oddball,can i have some of your Knowledge????Just wanna know if those Hikari FD Bloodworms With the Vitamins will Keep HITH/HLLE at bay.........................................usually the Mods/Experts are JUMPING to flex their gray-matter muscles!!!!!!!!

Patience is a virtue my friend...been a little busy and the internet isn't workin at my place...haha.

No food will really keep HITH AND LLE at bay...a VARIED diet will help a lot though. Feedin your fish just one type of food will leave deficiencies that can cause problems later on. Water changes are also a VERY important thing when it comes to HITH. Without them, the conditions of your tank deteriorate, causing more problems, and stress, which leaves your fish open to the disease.

FD Bloodworms probably isn't such a good idea though man, not to feed the way you are. Being freeze dried and all, it makes me think that it would be easy for your fish to get bloat. Just be careful. And be patient. ;)
