yes, thank you

few posts in the beginning shocked me a bit, lol

absolutely... this is the beginning of a beautiful future.. not something you do as a business declaration......

What you''re "just sayin" is bigoted and homophobic....just saying......

I agree with you that he was being that way. Why do you care so much with what they do?

I think it was extremely rude of the bridess and I think it was a bad choice of the guests the gift was a little cheap but maybe the brides shouldn't have made a $97 plate fee! I'm super cheap myself so i will be charging an entrance tax.... and basing my plates upon the gifts brought :p jk! i would never i wouldn't expect gifts to cover the cost i would see it as the expense of the wedding loss and and thing given is a gain! but my wedding would be a cheap one .......... hopefully

So let me get this straight we have a happy *** couple engaged in the majic of holy matrimony which is against tradition but yet they expect a traditional gift..... give me a break I would have unloaded on that bride she's lucky to have some ppl even show support to the *** community that by itself is the gift or at least that's how I feel when I get married in September I dont expect gifts or money just the love and support of friends and family to be there to share in the joy of that day

While I agree with the sentiment of support and love, that applies to any couple. Pointing out that their "type" should be satisfied with what they get sounds bigoted and small minded. If it was traditional would you be saying those straight people should consider themselves lucky?

Alright lets get this thread back on track...... the gift vs brides reaction is of discussion we don't need it going off track towards the direction of *** marriage.

A lot of people can have a very strong opinion on this and not only does it become political but also religious so lets be careful of how we approach what we say and be respectful of each others personal opinions..

If you can keep it on track I don't mind healthy discussions =)

Nope definitely not small minded I have no issues with two ppl wanting to show that love for one and another and I'm all for *** marriage but their living an alternative life style and most alternative life styles typically don't follow traditional standards I honestly feel it all depends on the couple and one should know the couple well enough to know what may or may not offend them so in some cases yes the tradition standards are dead but again it depends on the couple if these two ladies were so concerned with what wedding gifts they got then they should have had a registry of gifts sent out with the invitation that would have solved all this

That would apply to any couple. That's why almost anyplace has a registry. Traditional standards have been dead a long time, weddings are a big business with everyone trying to out do each other but that is still another topic so for Ash, it was poor etiquette plain and simple.

Agreed :) personally I love pasta so if they wanna re gift that my way I'd take it lol
