My 230 bichir tank/stock will be heading over to this 500. Debating if they can handle life with the CK’s or not. Havent changed anything in the 500 for a good 3+ yrs now. Need to do somethin to liven things up a bit.Nice one mate! What do your stock changes plan include?
I love seeing that someone else understands the fantastic versatility and usefulness of those wonderful red Folger's containers. I have dozens in constant use as fish food containers, planters, storage bins, freezer containers, dog poop collectors, etc.
Gotta admit, though, it never occurred to me to use them in concert with filled aquariums to support structural beams in my house like you seem to be doing...
They are great for food storage i agree… these 2 in particular just happen to wedge perfectly between the tank lids and beam there so no fish can jump out
… bit unsightly but no worse than the rest of my “water weights” holding my friends in lol

… theyve become pretty flighty. Were chill for the longest time in their 5’x3’. Not so much lately aside from feeding time. I think they need more space or more cover? I pucker every time they deciede to wig out and start hitting walls.

Fun one coming up… tank bottom bulkhead replacement 
. It holds water fine, just been bothering me for 10+ yrs as i was too lazy to cut out room for the bulkhead. Its sealed through the tank plywood . I switched the other side to a uniseal and thats been holding for over 10yrs now. Taking the opportunity to switch to black pvc caps for aesthetics and also drill out the overflow water level to alleviate some pressure on this 40+ yr old tank. Fun part is setting up one of my emergency pools and flopping the fish in and out just to work for an hour or so

Fish are still currently in my 650. Itd b nice if they just got along there but i know its short lived. My Asotus is a richard cranium. I may just pull him down to smaller quarters, its kinda a waste having one 26” fish in a 9’x4’ footprint. Really hoping to get my bichirs into this 500 now.

Some after dinner pics…Measured the lung at 43” a couple weeks ago. Pics never do em justice. Knock on wood for the new 650g stock . There cohabbing fairly well to my surprise. And probably the last round of pics of the bichirs in their 230g.
