BTW nice seadragons, any update on your leucistic giraffe cat? Just curious

damn didn't know it was $3500 wholesale. I can vouch for ch08. This dude is as serious as a heart attack.

How about YOU? :D

Asked some of the salty guys at the shop about these and everyone seems to think they're super illegal - can you clarify this for me so I can educate my manager on the matter? Are they mistaken somehow, or is this a loophole because they're captive bred?

I was curious about the price because the ones we can get in the shop are well over 1,000 - but we have plenty of buyers who would be interested for this guy if he gets them in cheaper.

Your shop has buyers with many different points of view, Jason! :D I've been out of saltwater hobby for a while, so can't give much input, but if they're super illegal, this sale thread wouldn't exist! ;)

This is why I'm curious about the legal end of things - my manager was under the impression that they are so costly because they're illegal, not because they're hard to get, but if that's not the case I'd be interested in knowing for future reference. It's always good to have a knowledge of the industry :)

I brought the topic up at work today and the assistant manager said he wouldn't touch them with a ten foot pole - and one of the regular's in the shop made mention that they're illegal and it's a pretty hefty fine if you get caught with them.

I'm assuming that it's illegal to collect them from the wild, since this thread is up and about - and figured nobody could answer the question better than the guy selling them. :)

EDIT:

The regular also said the weedy's have never been captive bred - but the link provided by another member on here would seem to show differently - so are they captive bred as well?

* Sorry, leafy's have never been captive bred - I'm getting them mixed up now.

Not everything costly is illegal, vice versa. Mala wolf for an example, cheap and illegal. However, for sure costly fish is rare, hard to find, or hard to transport/capture. ;)

I understand that - I'm just wondering why people with a deeper level of experience than what I have in the salt water industry would be under the impression that they're illegal :)
