So about two weeks after getting my bass I started prepping them for top water feeding by dropping one in at a time. I'm using a method someone recommended that fit into my feeding schedule pretty well. After moving from guppies to roseys I started cutting the roseys in half for about a week. Today I started on with frozen. I bought a pack of silversides and went to work. With them being too large for my bass, I cut them up into pieces. My first time I dropped a chunk in and bam they hit it. The big one scaled it a little and spit it out. Discouraged a little I dropped another piece in ( all while fishing out the first unsuccessful chunk ) and again it was hit, scaled, spit out. Same thing happened the third time. My roommate threw out a suggestion that maybe they were too cold and they didn't like it. The fourth time I dropped a already warm piece in and to my surprise the big guy ate it and kept it in and down. I snuck one right next to the small guy and he took a piece too. After that they just looked at me like I was stupid. I gave up for the time and mixed up some blood worms and dropped it in. That was my next surprise. The small guy ate them all up like it was nothing. The bigger one spit them out. I left the feeding be for about 3 hours and just cut half a silver up into 4 chunks warmed up by hot water, dropped the first in and the big guy ate it instantly. Second piece was eaten by the small guy. From there I dropped in the next two pieces one at a time to no avail, fished it out and dropped it in again. The small one wouldn't go near it but the large one at it up, dropped in the last piece and again the large one ate it.

So far the battle to when off live is going decent I'd say. Im looking for some help, ideas, criticism, and any suggestions. Also, if I get these guys over to frozen, how do I get them onto pellets? Thanks guys!

Thanks man! Trial and error and a third party helped me figure that out hah. Well I let the little guy go hungry for a few more hours, cut up 3 little chunks, first one the big guy ate, second two the small guy ate. I'll let them be until tomorrow. They will conform hahah.

Once I have them comfortably on frozen, how do I transition to pellets? And do you have any suggestions on what kind?

This mornings feelings didn't go too well. Cut up 4 pieces, the big one ate one piece. After that neither would touch it. The small guy tore up two pieces but spit them out. I'm wondering if they aren't too big, so later on I'll cut them up smaller.

Try going straight to Massivore and skip frozen. Break the pellet into bit size and throw it in front of them. Will take time. Dithers will pick up what they don't eat. Dither also stir competition for food.

Good Luck!

When you say shrimp or krill, is this just what you would get from like your local grocery store? Where can one get krill from?

I would love to do this and get them right onto pellets, but will these guys starve themselves to death? How long can these guys go this small without food? The little guy ate some blood worms, he loves them for some reason. The bigger guy wont even touch them lol

Good Luck!

Thanks mah dude.
