Searching for ideas to stock my 75 when i get it in the near future, like armoured bichirs but recently saw pics of some kind of bichir tht has the same furry glands on the side of its head like a axoltl salamander? anyone have any info on this? would love to get one

yup that's all. All bichir species have them when babies. it'll disappear. My 5 inch weeksi has it right now for about a year. Not all that special.

as li.ma14 said all species have them while juveniles, but they are more commonly seen for prolonged times in certain species like the dels, and endlis

Armored bichir with external gills....delhezi come to mind. They should do fine in your 75 gal for awhile. Very interesting fish pretty hardy too IMO. Keep away from Plecos though. Plecs like to eat their slime coat which can cause disease and nasty looking spots. Some ppl have success stories but better safe than sorry.
