weird case of silver arowana

Could be a deformity or it may have come from an injury. Even possible that it's yolk sack may have been ripped off, though not sure if an aro can survive that. if it is eating I wouldn't worry much about it, it may even become less noticeable as it grows. For all that seem to think it's underfed, well they basically have little or no experience with aros of that size, as it is pretty hard to tell if a silver is malnourished from looking at a profile view of the fish.

Nice pick up for a deformed fish.

this is the first time i have seen it in an arow, hopefully it will healed up or become unoticeable when it gets bigger, for now i will just leave him in the hopital tank untill he gets bigger

it looks alittle far back for the egg sac...as the sac is in front of the streamers not behind...i think it was bite when it was younger by another aro...or it could have been caught on something like a net when it was being processed at the various stages till it found you...not do to hunger or anything like that...as the shadowing of the stomach, seem to have a full belly... i would be more conserned with its ability to poo as the hole would have to be relocated...also being that that spot is the poop shoot the bite injury seems more likly, imo...hungry fish looking for food, sees red stringy thing trys to eat it...i watched my tinfoils do this to my old aro around 16"

in other words at some point it "got ripped a new ***-hole"

Yeah your right didn't look at the pic close enough. Maybe it had a PA and it got infected?
