Hello, not sure where i should post this.

I'm looking for an ID on some sort of worm i found in my filter material.

I've got no clue if they are harmful to my fish or not.

No new fish/plants were introduced for at least a year, except for a couple of mussels last summer. (personally i think that's where those worms come from)
I don't give my fish live food either.

Since the picture isn't that clear, the worms are bright red, very thin and can get quite long, i found some of about 10cm.
The filter material (white stuff in the picture) is full of them.

So if anyone knows what they are and if they pose a threat to my fish or not, please do share the info!

Thanks in advace,
Thomas

looks like a live tubifex worm. they can get that long. (but I'm not 100% positive of ID), they are red when living but brown when bought as FD food.

I wouldn't stress it too much,, looks more like food than a problem .. then again I don't have to deal with it you do..
