Weird creature found in filtermaterial

not red wigglers, those are earthworms & they won't thrive underwater & are fatter than that anyway.
I 'think' tubifex. google them & look for pics of single worms for comparison. IF they are, it's good food for fish when grown in conditions bad parasites don't co-exist.
maybe some eggs made it in via processed food. there's plenty of stuff for them to eat in a filter.
 
camallanus worms are totally parasitic and emerge from fish's anus- which I think is why the last part of the word is "anus".

This is what black worms look like after living in my tank, when I pull up plant roots and such.
I feed my tank blackworms but they can come in as hitchhikers on plants.
 
yum. free food!
I'd just let the fish eat half & let them keep growing in filter for treats.
