i was feeding my fish right now when i noticed white/yellow eggs on one of the rocks i used to make a cave for the fish... i have no clue how they got there? they are almost gone like the fish ate them or something? i wonder who laid the eggs? i have a midas, xiloaensis, oscar,gt,pleco, loisellei, and a flowerhorn? i know for sure the midas and xilo are males they were vented by rapps the loisellei is too small to breed so that leaves the gt flowerhorn and oscar...... do fish lay eggs even though they dont have a mate? can you guys help me determine what sex my gt is? i know oscars cannot be sexed by appearance and i thought my gt was male but i have seen many people say female gt's will have green patches near the mouths which mine seems to have and also mine lacks the long fins and changes color often..

then what could have laid the eggs they seem to have been eaten for the most part and the rest are rotting away

It's very common for female fish to lay eggs without a mate. It could have been any of them. Parachromis can lay at a very young age. I have had them spawn at 2" so you can't count the loiselli out. Your GT is a female though and is a likely the one that laid from the look of your pictures.

gt is female and looks like she laid them judging from that second pic!!
wow this whole time i hought it was male..... now i have a question if she is a female about how much bigger will she get? she is about 7-8''.... i have only had her for a year and she grew this big from 2.5''

I was thinking male at first cause of the fins and the light color but what jumped out at me was the shape of the fish, idk for sure but the GT might be a female but I think the eggs came from the loiselli cause I had a very small RTM female that kept laying eggs but I didn't have any males in the tank with her !

im not sure the loiselli is pretty small about 3'' and the gt did deem to have her tube out she also lost all her color over the last 2 days heres a pic to show.... heres another pic to show how colorful it was when it was smaller what lead me to believe it was male... i figured the lost of color was because of not being the dominant fish in the tank...
