So I went in to one of my local freshwater stores and I was planning on getting something for the 56g I set u recently. I live in Colorado so bass are common, but not something sold at stores and they have no clue how, but they had a baby bass there! I can't tell if it's a large or smallmouth, but they gave the little dude to me for free. I'm setting up a 125g when I get back from Florida next month and I'll probably end up adding this little guy! He's right now only like four inches long.

I don't know if this is considered a 'monster' but they do grow rather large so I thought it be cool to post this. I caught a two footer last summer while in Florida so I'd consider that a monster fish for a home aquarium!

Nice man! I've always loved the American Largemouth and smallmouth bass, be very cool to se this guy growout. Good find and good luck! :headbang2

nice grab, I heard that once in a while they come in with feeder fish and seen a pickerel and largemouth but owner wouldn't part with it

I agree, looks small mouth. If the mouth goes past his eye its large mouth. If it comes up short before the eye its small mouth or it could be another bass but his pattern looks like small mouth bass.

Good find. I never see then in pet shops but I catch them in the wild. He's a monster in my book.

That is a very weird find for a pet store! That is 100% a smallmouth bass. Very cool fish, great fun when on the end of a fishing line lol

But, that is also most definitely not a characin LOL. Moved to NA natives.

Very unusual to find a smallmouth in a petstore, but definitely cool and a real monster in my book, good luck with the little guy!
