Weird fish for a 55g?

Putting a chaca chaca in a 55g would be cool. When you feed it.

Also a +1 for axolotl. Find a really huge old one.

Definitely some really cool ideas. I had thought about a native tank. And yeah, unfortunately I don't have the time/space to breed/buy feeders. Chacas are cool, I'll look into them.

Or do the most amazing thing in the universe. Go to a pond, scoop a bunch of mud and water into a bucket, take it home and put it in your tank. Filter lightly, light strongly and watch the fun unfold! It's different everytime. You never know what you'll get hatching out of it.
interesting idea.....

i was gonna get some blind cave tetras for a planted tank but with a 55g id go for something more monster flagtails or bichirs maybe?

not sure if this was already mentioned, but howbout you give mudskippers a try? They look really amazing and I wish I had a tank for them myself.

personally i wouldnt do it in a 55 though because they hardly ever go into the water so itd have to be a species or family tank kind of thing id rather do that for a 30 or so
