Weird rbp behavior...what do you make of this?

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
I recommend you remove the divider, and rearrange the entire tank (rocks, driftwood, ornaments, plants), all depend on the new decoration and tank size, remember that the more space they are tolerated better.
I recently took off the divider to my 3 rbp's, rearranged everything, so far no attacks, and the size difference I have is enough, the largest 8 inches and 4 "the smallest, your size difference is not much.

I leave here a couple of pictures to see as was:)before and after

I think age determines the sexual maturity more than size.who knows how old your 4"-5" fish are. They may be stunted a lil bit.they could be old enough to spawn, your spawn size will just be smaller.

Thanks ya'll, I have no idea how old the 6'' are, they were in a very small tank at the lfs, and seemed like they had been there for quite some time. Harry(8'') I've had for 2years since he was the size of a silver dollar, the 4-5'' I got from Alex at AE Aquatics. I might try removing the divider next week with the next water change on Wed.

How big of a tank is that?

could be that there is a current that is flowing in that direction.

GL man hope it works for ya.I personally woulda waited just lil longer so that size difference wasn't so much.looks to me like your 4 bites away from having a solitary rbp. But with rbp you just never know what works n what won't. Same size rbp can live with each other one day n eat each other the next.GL your big fish looks nice! Should post more pics!
