Well ever since I got this green sunfish its been doing pretty good I even got it to eat pellets .I havent tryed live foods yet but im sure it will swallow up some feeder fish .The only thing is ive never kept native fish before .So I think I may have some pests that came along with the fish .There is these white worm things that are about 1/4" long about as thick as a human hair and wiggle around like crazy thru the fish tank. Also the weirdest thing that I cant explain or have ever seen. The water will be clean crystal clear in regular room lights .But if you turn on the aquarium light within 20-30 seconds the water gets hazy with a almost yellow-green tint kind of hard to explain .It almost looks like of you had filled the tank with a really light yellow green smoke ,Weird I know. This however takes the water an hour or two to clear up again .So any one have any idea as to what the "worm" things are ? Whats up with the water turning hazy when i turn on the aquarium light?

The white worms sound like bristle worms. No idea what why the water is changeing color.

They type I had were harmless, just unpleasent to look at. But lots heat and lost salt got rid of them cause the tank was empty. Sorry but I don't remeber the name of he med that was suggested to me to get rid of them.

Try parasite clear tank buddies by Jungle, That should take care of the worms, from the swimming motion they could be nematodes. I don't know about the water color but I bet a UV filter would cure it.

aren't bristleworms suppsoed to be saltwater and comes with live rock?

I agree these are not bristle worms , ill go with nematodes or planaria ,I was thinking of putting small feeder fish in there to take care of the job.

photo (light) reactive algae ? If you do a 50% wc does it show up just as fast?
Didn't get your water from a near-by nuclear reactor cooling tower did ya?
