No Brich999, There is a glass versa top on the tank and a screen for ventilation. I never use any chemicals around the tank. Just aquarium glass cleaner if there is water spots on the glass. There is carbon in the cartridge so do I just change that out? Never heard of this so I am really worried, I have a payara, 2 datnoids in the tank with him, they are fine!

i feel for u kido! keep me posted....use good carbon dont go cheap...... use stress coat to help a little make shure if u have fake plants there is no metal in them could be seaping rust threw the plastic. make shure nooooooo stress on him.....

Still confused by all of this...he was fine till yesterday! Everyone else is fine in the tank! I put stresscoat yesterday during the day, before bed I put half a doze of pimafix and salt. So...gonna do a water change, remove the plastic plant...geez...should i just remove everything and everyone in that tank?

no it really sounds like poisoning. especially when one fish shows it and the others dont. when i accidentally poisoned my fish, they were fine then one would be in very bad shape. perhaps ammonia poisoning? Im trying to help, and as a heads up carbon will remove most medicines

I know brich999 and I am grateful for your help. I'm trying to do whats best for my fish here so...I should remove whatever plastic plant that might have metal in it, (which I have one) replace the carbon in the filter? Water change? No stress coat or any other medication? I want to be clear as to what my move will be.

I hope he pulls threw poor little dude has gone threw a lot :(

abolutly no reason to fully drain the tank and clean. the pima has a infection, add pimaflex and salt, remove all carbon raise temp to 84 and you will be fine.
