weird white clear slime growing on my driftwood??

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
it is licke a fungus or bactieria and there is some grreen on some of the stuff and it only grows on wood, decaying food, dead crickets, dead rotting wood so if i get fiddler crabs, monos and a scat will they eat it i will also have tadpoles in their becuase of the treefrogs and if it is a plant like growth(fungus, alagea ect) they will feed on it so will the others feed on it and also were do i find a good salinaty measureing device i am trying to create a brackish envirement with a sg of at least 1.006 and a maximum sg of 1.008 ny pacific treefrogs wont care since the water is already a bit brackish and they are a coastal frog and no i did not over declorinate by the way the wood came from a boggy wet swamp like area the same area i got the frogs

How would you know your water is brackish if you have no hydrometer or refractometer? Get them in your lfs.

From your description, the slime is simply molds or fungus. Just remove them manually.

I also bleached wood before and soaked it in it then let it soak in clean water for 24 hours then let sun back for 2 days. Had no issues with that.

It can't be from overdoing the dechlorinator. It showed up in my tank and I use well water and no chemicals whatsoever in my tank.
