alright i was doing my usual feeding to my california kingsnake , when i threw the mice into the snake tank , the california king actually miss the mice and strike the fake plant and started to coil around it for 15 mins, worried that he might just eat up the fake plant and injured himself , i started to try uncoil him, instead he coil around my finger and wouldn't let go ,then the mice at the habba tree jump out of the enclosure and escape into my room , lol  , finally i caught the mice and kingsnake manage to constrict his prey . my expericence of herpkeeping, this incident is quite new, just wondering anyone had similar encounter?

yeah it was quite a show , he was squealing for his life.

awww,,,tht is weird

When I feed my ball, I take all the plants out of the enclosure and wait until he is done eating and goes into his hide to put the plants back in!

can't they feel their prey? i think its their instinct to start constricting once they think they got their prey.

used to do that , but relocating back the snake might cause him to regurgitate, it smells worst then its poo , zoo keeper do feed the snakes in their enclosure , no cause for alarm.

Yea I do the same thing, i remove everything except the water dish.........I had something pretty crazy happen to me the other day though, I brought the box up to my room to feed my one ball, opened the box, and the mouse was gone.........Ended up finding him in my car, where he crapped everywhere, the ball knew it was time to feed to so when i dropped it in, the mouse didn't even touch the ground...........
