Weirdest, but good tasting things you've eaten?

Dude. HEARTS ARE DELICIOUS. I eat the heart of the deer right when we get back to camp if I get one, and if someone gets one and they don't want it, I always get the liver and heart, tried the stomach lining once with a good wash of course and it wasn't half bad probably wouldn't do it again tho

When I bag a deer the heart goes in the gut pile with the rest of the organs. I dont eat any of that stuff.

What becomes of the gut pile....is it left for other animals to come along and eat?
 
I don't know about deer guts yet, parent haven't taken me hunting :(... But what I usually do with guts and bones after I go fishing is put them in my crap traps.. Its free, works great, and I don't waste a single bit.
Another kinda weird thing I eat is 2-3 inch tilapia. We aren't allowed to throw them back, and I don't want to waste them, so I fillet them. I have gotten quite good, not leaving any meat except for what's between the bones. Then I put the bones and guts in some netting and add them to the crabtraps.

if you just gut the 2-3 inchers, you can deep fry them to a crisp and eat bones and all

we used to do that with blue gills. it's awesome with fish sauce and steamed rice

its a sad state of affairs america is in regarding organ meat. heart is pure muscle. its like meat with 0 fat its incredible. this whole giant part of the animal is taken, (its internal organs) and usually used to feed the other animals of the same kind or different. That's why the american meat industry has been moving the public away from organ meat for decades. it means more money for them.

that's a lot of wasted delicious food, get over the taboo and try it I gurantee you love it!

I'm scared to say the things I've tried but I've always followed the "when in Rome" philosophy. I have been living and working in China for over 15 years and I've tried everything... Some things were pleasant surprises as far as flavor goes.

Here in Asia, we eat everything deemed edible inside and outside a pig, cow or chicken. Blood and brains are no exception for many, though I do not personally try them. That is another level of disgusting for me. I have eaten every innard inside a pig from intestines to lungs. I have eaten chicken intestines. That second stomach for cows where they temporarily hide grass? Yes, it's a delicacy. We're not squeamish like the rest of the world.

Has anybody tried jellyfish, BTW? It's good. Oh, Nanjing...

Snake, crocodile, dog, turtle, pigeon, silk worms, the list goes on...
