Weirdest fish at an LFS

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
A bunch of freshwater lion fish. Never seen them in real life before.

i am blessed to have an infinately interesting and awsome lfs a lungfish, an eletric cat and something that looks like a cross between a flowerhorne and a parrot as well as a giant indiana ocean clam alive! at least a foot long

not recent sightings:
good - cone snails, various octopus (in tupperware with holes in a reef tank), cuttlefish. all very cool.
bad - 4ft nurse shark in a 125. very very sad.
ugly - absolutely huge moray, greenish color

I saw a Remora almost 3 feet long at one of my local stores. They often get strange stuff because the family that owns it also has family in the commercial fishing business. You never know what they are going to catch in their big nets.

Living in HK i've seen all sorts of un-usual fish for sale... electric eels, electric catfish, 4Ft RTC's, Large Flounders, pretty much anything and every thing you can imagine all the way up to Octopus / Jelly Fish / Sea horses...

Probably one of the advantages of living in a place where there are no laws on what type of fish you import and sell...
