weirdest fish incident

I had two oscars when I was a teenager. I didn't have a hood for my tank, but I kept a piece of sheet aluminum over it. I went away for the weekend and my parents shut my bedroom door. Well, the oscars were used to being fed at 7:00 am. The tiger was pretty agressive and would eat out of my hand. Anyway, I guess the hunger got the best of him and he started crashing against the sheet aluminum. At some point he jumped out of the tank. My Dad found him some time after 9:00 am and tried to revive him for a few hours, but he didn't make it. I've loved oscars ever since then.

We used to have this salt water tank that had some really nice fish in it. My dad got this little sea anemone that was only supposed to get abou 5 inches wide. Well, the petshop mislabeled it, and it ended up being this carpet anemone that got about 2.5 feet across. It ate everything, most disappointing was the brand new yellow tang that it only ate the back half of.

*my boyfriend would feed crickets to his silver aro. one time, not wanting to keep them in the plastic bag, he put them into an empty coffee can. apparently, it wasn't as empty as he though. crickets ate the coffee grounds, went crazy jumping all over when he took them out to feed, aro ate the crickets, started swimming like a maniac. caffeine has a big effect on fish apparently.

I'm going to try to get some caffeine into my caribas. that would be hillarious. great story.

LMAO
wow i finally made a good thread this will serve as a bump and i have a new one several years back my freinds tank burst in his basement some fish went missing well he has this odd water filled hole in his basement with some sort of pump contraption we were flicking cave crickets in there when we noticed a large splash when we looked in we found 2 gold fish a Eel of unknown origin 3 blue gills and a bull head catfish also some weird shrimp with no eyes the tank was a chesepeake bay esutary tank for biology and the s.p.e.c.i.e.s program at my school ( SPHS )

So here's a new one, and it's slightly tragic, as well. I was thirsty, so I got a glass of ice water. A nice cool, refreshing drink. I went into my room (where I keep 9 tanks) and watched some TV, and then went downstairs to check some of my fishy forums. I set the drink on a table by a tank containing 2 Convicts. I check my forums for new posts, pictures, etc, and then I return upstairs to watch whatever I was watching (I want to say it was Office Space, but I'm not positive). I open the door just in time to see a convict leap from the uncovered tank, and land directly in the freezing cold water. SOmehow he made it past the ice cubes, and plunged to the bottom. I think tempeture shock did him in. By the time I got him out of the glass, not only were my fingers numb, but my fish was dead. T'was the first Con I ever owned. :( RIP Hairbrush.

i had a goldfish in a 1 gallon plastic water bottle with the top cut off. i never changed the water and used to pour mountain dew in the water.

it lived over a year.

Not too great considering Goldfish can live to be 15+ years old. T_T

ugh, my little black oscar has become a devil. . . last night he jumped out of the water and bit my boyfriend while he was feeding them, and this morning he did the same thing to me. note to self: open shrimp pellets first, then open tank lid. not the other way around.

little bastard.

weirdest fish thing.. hmm i've had alot of them.... well this one time we had fleas real bad in then house, and i noticed one was in the fish bowl with my betta fish, so i went to scoop it out because well... eeewww.... poor fish... as i reached for the bowl my fish did a flip in the air, and ate the flea.... was weird experience.
