weirdest pet acquisition

One night about a year and a half ago I was staggering home in my usual Saturday 3am state when a box on the sidewalk caught my attention as it was moving a little bit. At first I thought that the last round or 6 of Jagermeifter was playing tricks on me, but on closer inspection the box (a standard 24 can beer box) had a baby poodle inside (1 month-6 weeks, just weaned). I hate poodles, yappy little buggars with stupid haicuts, but I couldn't just leave the little tyke in a beer box on the street. So... the plan was to take him home, feed him up, sleep it off, and tomorrow hit the pet clinics with "free to a good home" fliers. I was a little worried about my (at the time) 8 year old male huskey, Stalin, who had to this point a near zero tolerance to small dogs. Suprisingly within an hour after feeding, the crusty old fogey was curled up around this tiny fluff-ball protectively next to me on the sofa. When I woke at the crack of noon they were bouncing all over the house like best friends. I dunno that sorta sealed it Bob has been a big (well small really) part of the family ever since and he is not yappy and of course He doesn't get stupid haircuts.

Last year I was sitting on the couch watching tv and in the corner of my eye I saw something moving, when I turned around I saw a giant house spider (tegenaria gigantea) so I tried to catch it but it ran into a gap between my fish tank cabinet and the wall, when I looked in there I noticed that there was a funnel web in there and that the spider had made itself at home in my house.
So I just left it there and occasionally i would throw an insect in there for it to eat, it lived there for about 8 months but one day suddenly disappeared, not very surprising when I've got a cat and lizards that I let run around in my living room sometimes
