everyone always likes to tell you that you cannot keep cichlids with plants . . . I have kept JDs, GTs, Texas, and a whole bunch of other cichlids with plants with minor problems . . .

but, to be fair, you are better off to keep them with tough plants (java ferns, anubias, amazons, etc.), and the poster may have been concerned about the relatively delicate plants in the OP's tank

are those even real plants? I can't be sure after watching the video . . .

If the plants were real they would already be dead. Cyano likes to graze the algae on them.
JD is no older than 6 months. Hes getting close to 6in. His parents are STUNNER Jd's.
Im sure these 4 fish i have would be fine until adulthood in the 90gal. Ample filtration. Im planning on getting rid of the GT soon because shes too many problems.
Im looking for a Red tex to mate up with my cyano. Shes certainly ready to try. Shes had her breeding colors on for 4 days trying to breed with JD. Shes a little too aggressive, but just chases, no biting.
Then I will move the Fene to the 55 with some pink glofish and a couple jumbo neon tetra. :D then sit back and enjoy.

Just an FYI - i'd steer clear of a gold nugget plec w/ aggressive large cichlids - Gold nuggets don't get very large, grow very very slow, and are very sensitive to water conditions - go Royal.

My 90gal is turning into a cyano breeding tank, so I already ruled out the pleco for that tank. Water conditions are never a problem. Maybee 1 in the 55gal with the fenestratus and tetra.
I just measured Jack. Hes 7in, and reallll thick. Hes gonna be a big boy. I wonder if he will be a able to coexist with breeding Hericthys. I can see that really being a problem. He might have to be sold when that time comes.
I have confidence in this little cyano. Shes beast for her size. Doesnt back down and shes a fighter. Im more worried about her killing a red tex haha
