I fail to see the need to punish a fish for acting like a fish. You can't "teach it a lesson" for exhibiting its natural behaviour.

The scientific side of me agrees, but the terminator side of me disagrees.

I agree I dont see the point in punishing a fish to a death sentence for acting like a fish the fish will not know why its being punished it just did what comes naturally if its still alive you could take it to an lfs or maybe give it away to someone on this forum that might live close to you just my two cents

but a bird gets hit by a car, and that really bothers you?

accidental death=bad
death on purpose=good :screwy:

Comparing a bird of prey that was hit and left to rot over a fish thats gonna get ate and used. yeah id say that it wouldnt bother me. And dont say the bird would have been consumed eventually because what ever would have came to eat it has the chance of getting hit as well.

So because you were irresponsible, you are taking it out on the Oscar?

yeah and like i said before he was goin in there sooner or later anyway. Now if i was really gonna take it out on the fish i could of put him in a garbage disposal.

Hey, I used to get mad at my fish when I was younger, then I realized that this type of emotion did me and the fish no good at all. A little planning before had goes a long way. Typically a fish like an Oscar is a threat to consume anything smaller than it's mouth - no matter what the fishes behavior was like in the past. Like a largemouth bass or a saltwater grouper. take it as a lesson learned, and learn to let go of "anger" when it comes to fishkeeping. You'll be much happier, and so will your fish.

And thats what i understand. I took him out and put him in another tank. I didnt kill him hes got a chance in that tank. Like i said before i understand that it was my fault for this happening.

i like it!! id do the same thing. im sure he will be fine in the big tank. my oscar eats anything and everything he can fit in his mouth hes kind of a pain in the ass
