Not worth it. Just tell everyone to leave the tank alone. If you or anyone isn't within a tails reach you can't get stung. As you can see from my vid if you don't spook them and are calm with them knowing where you are and you knowing where they are there is no issues. My male is about to shed a stinger. He has 2 really big stingers right now but doesn't care to use them. The only person that should.be in your tank for anything it you when you clean or feed. No one touches my tanks.
I always wussed out with my brown rays as they have longer tails and are smaller so they can get to the front of the disc with it. On black rays and big older rays they are more calm and have a bigger disc to tail ratio. They can't get you as easy if you are at the front of the disc feeding. Also they are calmer if you let them come to you.
