I'm not sure it matters, but I saw a thread a long time ago with someone breeding angelfish due to lack of water changes for a week. I was super busy when mine laid eggs, so I didn't change the water when she had the fins, but I did a freshwater top-off.
So try not to change the water, I don't think it matters, but it worked for me![]()
