no where
and a Q,

firsts the Qs, can i house 2 oscars in a 4-5 foot round kiddie pool? would a rtc or a tsn beable to fit?

ok so for my room ill have a 4-5 foot round kiddie pool a 75 a 55 a 30 and three 20s ( 20 long 20 regaler and a 29 )

so if i do get the 30 ill be useing that for the livebearer community tank that m new roomate is gunna give me ( he has a 55 ovverstocked with platys and guppys ) and a few ghost shrimps

the 75 will house 1 oscar 1 sev ( miss my old sev )

the 55 will house well it will be a community tank of tropical fish i guess

the 30 ( if the seller goes through with the sale ) will be divided so i have two pairs of convicts in there

the 29 will be for the con growouts

the 20 long will be for the livebearre growouts

the 20 regaler will be for the con growouts.

how does that sound?

so all ill have in my room is
1 four or five foot kiddie pool
one 75 gallon
one 55 gallon
one 30 gallon
one 29 gallon
one 20 long
one 20 high

then i should be good to go!

Have you double checked with your roommate about all those tanks? Especially a kiddie pool...haha, where are you going to put furniture? How much of the utilities are you paying? He may not be overly happy about lots of water changes or the electric bill if he's paying half. Just saying, you might want to be totally honest about what your plans are (give him that list and see what he says ;) ).

I would try and focus on getting into a place that suits you, and doing what you need until you can figure out how to get your own home where you can go crazy with tanks if you want. I know I'd be seriously concerned about a renter putting that many tanks, in his one room. I'm not sure you will even have enough plugs to run all of those tanks plus your other electrical needs?

Good luck with whatever you do.

Don't get carried away in thinking that standard kiddie pools are akin to a pond. An industry-standard 4ft diameter kiddie pool holds 94 gallons when filled to the top. A 5ft diameter kiddie pool holds 146 gallons filled to the top. Neither is any kind of housing for a RTC.

How do you intend to filter them? Standard HOB filters won't fit the lip and their weight will place stress to the thin-wall plastic causing premature failure. Canister and W/D filters can't be properly placed on floor sitting kiddie pools. Now, you have to look into building large rigid stands to hold the kiddie pools to a height that can allow for proper filter placement and water changes.

Heating is another problem. It'll take more to keep 94 gals heated in a kiddie pool than a covered aquarium. The heater will have to be shielded to prevent melting/weakening the thin plastic pool wall.

Are you planning on obtaining renter's insurance? It'll cover your butt in the event one of your tanks or pools causes damage to the property. Especially if an accident in your apartment spills on over to another tenants apartment.

this will be in the basement oddball, when i move im moving to an actual hoause. and teh 55-75-kiddie pool alll will be in thebasement.

Fine. Yet, no response to pool size versus RTC, heating, filtering...

Without properly planning out the use of unconventional equipment for aquariums, the fish will wind up suffering and you'll wind up plastering the site with problems that could have been avoided in the 1st place.

agree with oddball although ive hooked up a fx5 to a kiddie pool before with no issues
