Well well well. . . what do we have here?!

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Great stuff "power" I had to put my love for crenicichla on hold due to lack of space but soon as I get a house I'm aiming for a 300g and a blue pitbull. Whats the total on the pikes up to over there?

The one in the middle bag is certainly a female, I assume that the one with the orange flare on the shoulder spot is that middle one - that orange is FANTASTIC by the way!

Too bad on the Notos - they do seem fragile, but, I bet they are no different than the larger relatives!

Nice, love the spotted patterning....

i got two notos as well. had three and they came with some sort of fungus like disease on the fins. two recovers and one eventually got the knife to head. turns out i have two females. seems when they are very small all the females dont show the red ocelli on the dorsal fin. its just starting to form on my one.

i must say tho. im loving the dwarf species so far. so much easier to keep a munch of them and if they get to fiesty, then its just a 20g for themselves, not a 55 or 75 like with the big guys

Thanks everyone! They are top notch fish thats for sure! Already are the dominant fish in the tank . . .

eggie ~ Yesh sir they are all eating quite well. :) Loving the mysis shrimp. Gonna try some prawns and catfish nuggets on the lents tomorrow. ;)

Its funny watching the notos eat the mysis. Its almost as big as they are. haha

Ray ~ I'm not sure with this variant, but I think the males get some pink in their dorsals as well, while the females get the white stripe in addition to the pink. I hope you're right, cuz I would be most happy with at least one female! Would suck to have all three males. At least I know of a few other people that also have the same variant, so if all else fails . . . .

Sounds like you need a male . . . ;) I would like another female!!! Two males is definitely not a good thing, two females is much more desireable for a trio. haha.

I was thinking that the white stripe is pretty obvious in the pics, when you get em into a bigger home, just flip em over, the female should be VERY obvious :) just my 0.02 - I am no expert of course, just had my hands on a lot of pikes in the last few months!
