Went catfishing today!

...and got skunked. Did see a few things today though. We went out to a small reservoir, and decided to hit some late bass fishing. There is a small man made lake near the res. and it is a great catfish lake. So we went out to the lake, and as we came through the brush, there was a female moose on the far shore. One of my friends and I went around the lake, and got to within 25 yards of the female. Unfortunately, this being a fishing trip, we had only cell phone cameras. We snapped a few shots, and I got a short video of it. As the video was ending, we heard some rustling, only to see a large bull moose. We saw many other animals, as well, but the distance of these two moose, was as close as I have ever been to a moose, while on foot.

hmmm, see quit a few Elk, and mule deer when I am at work up here in montana, but have only seen a few moose. Beautiful creatures. Seen a lot of eagles over the past five days though.

What is the diference between an elk and a moose? aren't they the same? The ones with "broad velvety" and a hunchback?

Must be cool to get that close to a moose. When I was on a fishing trip up in Canada I was determined to catch a moose but I didnt see any!

Moose are a bajillion times bigger than elk. Haha Moose have larger broader antlers, Elk has narrower tiwggy antlers. The fur colors and sizes are different too, moose are giant.

No, lol, there all different...

Deer are smaller than elk which are smaller than moose. Moose are the largest land animal in North America, I believe.

Moose are scary huge.

No, the skunk was dead. Ironically we actually did smell a skunk though.
