I see these all the time and haven't been able to catch one yet. Now I know what they are.

here in maine there skitish as can be tell there about 8 to 10 inches then they get bold and claim a teritory.

Late chiming in but that is definitely a small mouth bass... I catch hundreds per week out of the river behind my house
