Went on vacation... came home to horribly sick tank

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Same thing happened to some of my tanks over the holidays. Sorry to hear about your Heckeli. Most of the US in going through a deep freeze and your tank must have experienced some sort of large Temp lose while you were gone, at least thats what happened to mine. Keep the Temp up and add salt and you should be ok. I lost 5 Thorichthys Passiones that I had just gotten from Rapps too. Very upsetting.

Sorry to hear about the probs. Hope the others pull through alright.

If you do need a heater consider the Jager heaters (made by Eheim). Always used them in all my tanks and never had a prob.

Great deals here.

Thanks Bill. I hope the others pull through okay too. Thanks for the link. I'll definitely look into getting one of those.

Thanks so much. I'm sorry to hear that the same thing happened to you. It really stinks. That is such a bummer that you lost your Passiones from Rapps. I'm going to add the aquarium salt tonight, so I'm hoping to see some improvement soon.

how everyone doing? my temps dropped about 10degrees while i was gone for christmas, luckily everyone was fine and no fish got sick.

You are lucky. Mine dropped more than that. When i walked in the house I could even sense something was wrong before i went and turned on the tank. Bummer and its never happened before.

As of today, I haven't lost anyone else. A few of the fish are still looking really bad, but a few are also looking a lot better. I have a good feeling that my Chocolate, Firemouth and Jurupari might pull through this :)
