went out netting-yard seine netting?????

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
In times of flood and unusual water currents, most of the fish you are collecting would prefer to shelter not forage. So I suggest some flat tiles or slate propped up at one end (downstream end). Fish will gladly take refuge from the current and predators by hiding underneath and will be easy to find. Simply lift up the tile and scoop. Dont put these traps too near logs or rocks as fish will choose the biggest safest shelter instead.

You could also try some pipes for this.

its hot and alot of work tho lol
that you guys dont see in my pix
:D

went out there today

water is still flowing a bit where the net is but not hard enough to push fish in the net
we could see big fish "few inches" running around
so we kinda herded them to the seine net
then pops blocked the path while i grabbed one side of the net and swung it around to land on the other side
"hope you got that lol"
anyways
we did that twice and this is what we got
all this below was out of the hole in the pix
the yard was full of smaller mosquito fish too but i wasnt chasing them lol

also seen this bird in the road with a big fish he caught
my cams flash wasnt good enough but you can kinda see him holding the fish
:D
bump for this new post and pix on the last page :D
click the box in the quote or just go back a page to see pix :D

good idea,might try that :)
the way it is tho, they have to flow with the water or get trapped
so the seine across the water is a good way when its flowing harder :)

There was a gibb in there!

Man, people really need to stop releasing fish.
---------

These fish have established themselves in warm/hot water mostly canals (man made all over Florida ) that is way to hot for native sunfish and native non Peacock bass.

The big lakes with the big bass you won't find cichlids.etc but the canals which would be barren except for mosquito fish were empty niches for many of these fish to fill.

Granted snake heads, walking catfish you don't want those but plecos-cichlids are harmless .

im envious i wish the uk was like the states sometimes with the fish you guys can scoop out of the rivers here all we get are really boring native fish and no introduced stuff lives since its soo cold

do you keep all the fish you nett in a big tank? got any pics of that

thats just how it is,grass always looks greener on the other side :D

and just look at my threads and it will come together lol :D
most of what i net goes in the tank with the aro in my avitar
you should be able to guess the results of that :grinno:
i have a bunch of holding tanks to hold all my "feeders"
:)
i do however....
keep some fish...
stock parents pond with some....
and give away lots to friends and people locally
:)

also
no pix
but
my parents said all day the yard was full of big birds!!!
:nilly:
they were all around my net too
so i dont think theres any fish left in the yard
:irked:
