On Friday we went to get feed for the guineas. As we came around the corner of an isle we saw heat lamps on?
I got all excited and did my best not to run over. Lol
They had a small selection of chicks available that weren’t already on hold. weren’t going to get chicks till next year.....but I do see more reason now to be more self sufficient.
And on that note, here are my new little babies?

My daughter is very attached to the Cali chick and named it Light.

They are so sweet and a lot less skiddish then the guineas were. I’m beyond excited about these little guys. It’s been a lifelong dream of mine to have chickens. We got 10. Three barred rock, three black australorp, three black sex link, and one california white. We got the white for free? Not as awesome as last years deal, but I’m not complaining!
And next month they will have turkeys! I was told to call at the end of April to see when they will arrive. I thought I missed out on turkeys for the year, so it was great to hear

Nice pickup. I remember a pet department was selling baby Chicks around Easter. I was young but now realize that was wrong on all levels because people bought them without knowledge of taking care of Chick or Chicken.

Yeah, it’s sad. Around June you’ll see people selling ducks and chicks they bought for their kids at Easter but didn’t think about the fact that they don’t stay babies forever.

Lol if I had to pick a favorite I'd pic the very bottom pic there. Idky but I like that one the most.

That one is a favorite of mine too. It’s my top pick for snuggling. Haha.
The little stinker kept running up to me while I was trying to get pictures of it. Lol

Lol well better to have a chicken like being handled then not. Makes it much easier to move em around atleast.

Lol ik your chickens are going to be far bigger then the ones I have plans on getting. All the chicks I'm planning on getting are bantam breeds.
