and the 'big cow thing' was a longhorn... and those things are freaky in person.. or one running at you is even freaky-er!

one problem Sean and i saw was that they mixed different species in rally bad combo's like a golden mantella with a leaf tailed gecko

I saw no problem with the setup. Both species come from Madagascar, and have very similar requirements. The Mantella stays on the floor of the cage, and the Gecko spends all it's time in the top half of the cage. There is very little interaction between the two species. The gecko does not view the Mantella as food, so no problem there. All the issues with mixed species tanks have been addressed, and I see no issues. So tell me, what makes it a bad setup?
