I assume the back part of the tile "the biscuit" that adhesive goes on to is inert and does not harden the water?

The reason I ask is that my pool man said that if you tile a pool then the PH stays high and the water hardens - any comments?

Not sure, i was wondering the same thing.

I think we need you to keep up some long term tests of PH and Hardness, I expect it will be fine and large water changes will dilute any changes anyway.

I can see that water could trap under the plates but surely if it gets under it will flow slowly out? or create an anaerobic environment????
