I've been looking for months for real cichla ocellaris i know predatory fins have some at the moment but the shipping is crazy. I spend 100 for fish and 75 for shipping its not their fault but still expensive. Some web sites say they have them but they are too small to really tell( 2-3 inch range) and from some of there pictures they are mono's i really miss snooker21 tropical fish online true cichla ocellaris and multiple sizes

Define real ocellaris? Wes just had brokopondo ocellaris which are “real” ocellaris although Guyana ocellaris haven’t been imported in some time.

Well here in sweden if you order monos you will probably end up with ocellaris. If you order ocellaris you will probably end up with farmie hybrids.

Lol i know i ordered 2 from him a few months ago, but im talking about the ones from Guyana and Guinea. Brokopundo's are very easily distinguished from the other ocellaris.i have brought supposed ocellaris from aquatic dealers online that were mono's now i no when they are a certain size it is hard to tell them apart.but when you look at curtain aquatic venders website photos of ocellaris they are mono's from Peru, delmont (if im spelling it right), and other locations predatory fins have true ocellaris but when you look on the site the photos are of mono's but before i purchased them i asked them to send me a real pick and the were the real deal. Some venders don't know how to tell them apart so they are at the mercy of there supplier's. It sucks to buy a fish and it comes in as the wrong fish here are real pictures of true ocellaris and they dont always have to show red eyes it can come and go depending on the fish here are some pictures

I was pulling your leg. If it were me and you have time I would look at the FS section. Not necessarily to buy from anybody but to see what people say about the sellers. Just read a post about some nice Geos and people were saying they bought before and fish were great.
Lately I have been stiffed buying a couple things so I am not recommending anything. Seems my decision making has been poor.
Sometimes its the luck of the draw when buying fish.

Even on YouTube i see so many people saying there mono's are ocellaris.im 38 I've been in the hobby since I was 11. I've owned almost every large growing cichlid that gets above the 8 inch mark. As fellow hobbyist i need to strees this .if you purchase a fish and get the wrong fish it can be upsetting there are some very reliable venders who make sure you get what you payed for but im talking about those who just sell to get the money.here are some more pictures .the first three are ocellaris the last one is a mono

I agree that many make mistakes when ID'ing the fry. Why not buy when they are 4-5"?
