were do you get your dovii from?

awesome dovii ! is there much difference between were they coem from? costa rican and nicaraguan?
 
Yes, they will differ in body mass as well as coloration. Costa Rican are typically bulkier and less colorful while Nicaraguan are typically more slender and more colorful. There is another.. umm.. starts with an H :D Those usually have a short body look to them.
 
Honduran are more red as with all Honduran Parachromis. They have Tons of red sheen and while Nic's are more blue in coloration and Costa's are also blue but seem to be more stocky in build as Mudfrog said. Nic's are also big in size and grow fat but Honduran seem to be the smallest. Mine is a Nicaraguan to give you reference.
 
hmm so what would you reccomed, I would like it to be big prefferbly with the nice blue i always see, what seems to be the most liked or nicest lookign when there big. there was another like showing huge ones in public aquiarums, whatwere those do you think?
 
Ken has some nicaraguan doviis...I got my nicaraguan male from him and is already blue and purplish...now i just need a camera to show it off >=)
 
I have 5 Nicaraguan dovi from Ken, biggest is around 11 inches. Bought them in April, they are all living in a 240 gallon.
