"too much" is only relative to the fish you keep.
as far as just filtration goes, you can never have too much. But if the current in your tank stresses your fish, then you will need to reduce it a bit. You just need to find a good balance.
is 3/4 inch over flow ample for than sort of size tank?
i think i am correct in thinking the bigger the sump the better as it increase water volume..... just trying to think of what i can use that will be really cheap.....
