Wet Dry filter good for my situation?

actually no ammonia in tap water, but the levels in the tank have dropped since ive been doing WC every two days.

Read the title of the thread... I restate my answer... In the OP's situation, no a wet/dry is not the right filter for your situation...

Sure, sumps as well as wet/drys have their benefits and advantages...

But I do not feel adding a wet/dry sump is a wise replacement for a pair of large HOBs. Yes I feel doing so will leave the mechanical fitlration on this set up weak.

It is very very likely that the OP could simply remove the AC110s, and after a small 'mini cycle' due to the loss of bacteira in those filters, his remaining filtration could easily process the ammonia produced in this tank.

I have nothing against wet/dry filters, I simply understand filtration well enough to understand where they work best and where other options are a better choice.
