Ive been noticing all the tanks that have Wet/Dry filters are always Super clean an clear, Ive never had one an have gotten curious about them. Are Overlfows required for a Wet/Dry filter or can they also be setup using only regular filter intakes (like on most canister filters)?

Wet/Dry filters use overflows, you want to use it this way otherwise the pump will pump it back into the aquarium faster then it can be sucked out, and you might end up burning out your pump.

But you are right. both of my wet/drys keep my 90 and 210 spotless.

Is there anyway to Add overflows to a Glass tank, short of Drilling an all that?

Yeah, when you buy the setup they should come with a plastic U that you put over the side that will automatically siphon off the excess water and put it in the filter.

so, in the tank, their is a plastic box that the water will flow in that keeps your fich from getting sucked out. then it goes through the plastic U shaped tube, through one sponge that catches the course debris, down through another sponge, to the bio media, into a sump and through another sponge and into your pump, back into your tank.

And with the overflow system that flow rate is as fast as your pump, so you can create as fast or as slow a cycle as you want.

Oh Nice. I think when I upgrade Tanks or filters again Im gonna look into getting a Wet/Dry. Thanks Gooda  .

byt an overflow box... they run about 20-100$

what size tank you doing this for

All of my overflow boxes came with the filter. If they try and screw you I will send you my extra, for the cost of shipping, its built for a 210 so it has room for 2 hoses, but you could jerry rig it to work for one.
