are there diffrent sizes for those filters(wet/dry)? cause most ive seen are pretty big, some even have plants in it(is this even the filter that wer talking about?) big enough to be another furniture(you know what i mean?)

Whats been going on here since iv been gone, this is some funny stuff!!

yea im running a rena canister filter with my wet/dry and i thinks it not really doing much of anything compared to the wet/dry. I think it might be a waste of electricity, lol.

also benito1188 i built all my stuff DIY style, i suggest you do the same if you dont want to spend a lot of money. It cost about 100$'s to make everything. It probably would of cost me 300-400$'s if i were to go out and buy a similar setup.

Yesterday i went and bought some more nylon scrubbies. they came 6 in a bag and i bought about 15 bags, lol for 1.50 each. Everyone in line gave me some weird looks "what is this kid buying so many pot scrubbers for"

I bought about 20 bags at Big Lots and the lady said she was glad she wasn't going with me to do all of that cleaning. When I told her they were going into a fish tank filter I think I blew her mind. :D

Ceramic is more expensive dj, but i've dumped quite abit of money in setups that were eventually replaced by better quality. So i paid twice. Ask anyone who's "saved money" on a cheap protein skimmer or UV filter! But srsly I'm j/k so no worries about your scrubbies. Bioballs are expensive (as hell) also but not to difficult to find used in an everything-must-go quitting the hobby sale. Also check your lfs! I love making them take me in the back where they store their "junk". Hey, that's meh treasure!

haha yea, i bought a 30 gal used tank for 150. then after discovering this site and sitting and reading for hours made me realized how bad i got ripped off....SO its NEVER gonna happen EVER again!!

to dj, yea, i do think DIY is the best way to go, cause you can always customized/change or whatever you need to do more to your project, than buying a specific thing that has everything written down that you have to follow. and its also good for your wallet
