All glass makes a sump for a 240 that is inexpensive and quite good IMO. i run it on my 300 with 2 other filters.

I have a 30"x12"x12" wet/dry with no overflow box. just drilled the holes on the back of my 240gallon and ran pvc's to my sump.
no problem with power outages. in fact, when there is a power outage, i have check valves on my return pipes and my sump barely, and i mean barely holds all the water when my tank drains from an outage.
