Do you guys think this wet dry has to much media in it :screwy: :D

it has;

nano balls - 5 lbs
those white cylinder shaped things. with the holes in the middle dont know what there called. but theres 20 lbs of that in there. kinda look like bio max.
lava rock - 10 lbs.
sponges - 5 gallons
filter pading - 5 gallons.

the sump filled up about halfway, and the filter is just barley under the water :)

nice...can't really hurt anything so i guess never is too much. i've got 60lb of lava rocks in my sump for my 110g

i have pics of it with just the filter pads, and sponges. but not with the other stuff in it.

This is all in a 20gallon wet/dry so there not much room for water :)

I'll take a pic in a lil bit.

The media just underwater will not be as effective as it would be above water, is it really worth the extra 1 gallon or so to have some media submerged?

but the whole purpose of having a wet/dry is to have some of the biomedia submerged in water. hence wet/dry

The sponges are half in the water half out. the rest like the lava rock is under the water.

What happens when you unplug it? Does it overflow?

When they say W/D it means the biomedia is out of the water(dry) and the water splashes(wet) on the media exposing the aerobic bacteria to air... Having it under the water defeats that purpose.
