What is a fast growing fish that can be kept as a wet pet in a 55 gallon setup?

maybe an istlanum

i would say grammodes, but apparently they grow slowly

I just looked up the istlanum and they look nice enough, but where on earth would I find one? lol

istlanum are slow growers too I believe...they are very similar species to grammodes. I don't know about the growth rate but what about a salvini?

id say salvini or jack dempsey. also apparently some of the firemouth relatives are pretty personable but grow slowly. so are convicts but they grow really slow.

Maybe Salvini or JD both are good bets for a 55. JD would be the best wet pet out of the two IMO. You could do a GT too, really nice looking they grow at a moderate pace. The fish doesn't need to grow fast it needs to grow healthy.

if you dont like whats already mentioned a single male neet with a school of giant danios would work. they dont get big but grow pretty fast from what ive read and are ferocious. just throwing out some alternatives

I think a JD or Neet sound like the best choices so far.

MALE GREEN TERROR!
