Agree with the others, just abbout any leaf type works, as long as it isnnt toxic like chest nut.




I´ve used Magnolia, maple, and just about anything from my yard, that doesn´t kill plants or grasses under neath the tree canopy, ike chest nut does, or something that been sprayed with herbicide.
They do break down after a while, and siphoned up.

Of course when you look at many natural habitats, leaf litter is often a normal part of it.
