whale intelligence?

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
they are aware of their misery....and some committed suicide. It is impossible to imagine how much misery we put on them to let them take that decission...

commit suicide? like what? they jump out to their doom or ram themselves into the walls?

either way, that's horrible.

Such bull.....
Nvm, im just turning around and walking out.

No, in many cases much more dramatic. They push themself over a wall to fall to their death. Some drowned themself. Some don´t eat anymore.

That entire show is disgusting

I wouldnt exactly say that that is evidence of "suicide" exactly. It is very difficult for any animal to override its instincts for survival. Also, the falls can be accidents, and I know people with pets that they have difficulty getting to eat. Its just how it is some times, they arent trying to kill themselves.

However, whales are some of the smartest animals out there. Did you know that whales are now peaceful towards humans when back when we used to really hunt them down they would attack us? Now even individual whales who show evidence of having been harpooned have forgiven us and let us engage in intimate physical contact with them.

Animals such as water mammals, primates, and elephants are the smartest (well after humans) but -individuals- of other species have proven to be exceptionally intelligent (such as one case with an above average Parrot named Alex (now deceased) which developed great speech and emotions unlike most of his kind).
