Whale Jail

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
The part of how humans treat each other for the sake of views in a lot of these reality shows is a whole new can of worms i’d rather not get into lol...

This is sad and disturbing.

I don't think anyone one of us is in need of using these animals for either pleasure or food.....If we do, there's something wrong with us. I have never enjoyed animal circus, even as a kid, once I saw the chains on them, and I don't need to eat either a beluga whale or an orca to survive....If it comes to survival, given equal grounds, the whales will eat me and I wouldn't blame them...We humans break the rules of nature...

Either way, if they don't do something about this, it's a sure death for these animals.

I mean there are certain people that do survive of them such as the Inuit(sp?) people who rely on the flesh and fat as a way of life especially in the colder months...

But at least they only take what they need which might be 1 whale a year for a large tribe...

I don't want you to think that I like what they are doing over there, but it's just really hard for me to be holier than thou in these situations.

People in other parts of the world eat animals we would considered intelligent. I don't know if they are more intelligent than a whale or dolphin. But just because they are raising aquatic mammals for food I can't get very excited about it.

Re. endangered species, human beings are a very endangered species. We won't save the planet. We probably can't save ourselves.

This planet is going to change and we're not going to stop it. All we're going to do is adapt.
I am not here to be holier than thou either. My concern is when people breach the legal system on such a grand scale, in order to do these things. When you are out fishing in your boat, I assume you have a license and work within the legal limits etc.

I'd like to say this guy possibly escaped from there, but he likely said "Dasvidaniya *ickheads!" to some chaps at a Russian navy research facility.

I have seen something like this in the news before, very sad.

On kind of a side note, what new and (not so) amazing things will drones show us next? It seems they are always digging up secrets.

I've been wondering when the bionic Chinese porpoises were going to swim up with machine guns & Wade out on Electro mechanical legs. You mean you guys don't worry about the Porpoise-Borg?

Okay I was just being totally silly there.

But the truth is I think we worry way too much about the survival of certain animal species and way too little about the basic survival of the human race in the event of big catastrophes.

I'm pretty sure the human civilization has had several poorly recorded setbacks due to geologic age events. Several things that appear to be Ice Age cities are underwater in the tropic zones.

But they were not built underwater. All the excess water on Earth was just frozen up at the poles. The Seas were very low.

Where I live was once an ocean and now is a valley.

But if it was a valley before it was an ocean we've got no idea what happened there.

Because of crustal movements it may have been ocean more than once. It appears it may become an ocean again and if it does during a maximum melt event my house should still remain about 80 feet above mean sea level.

It's kind of a bummer because I hate living right on the ocean.
